Smiltene Wind Farm – Construction Progress Update
As colder weather continues, material deliveries for the construction of the wind farm are proceeding at full capacity. At present, approximately 75% of the planned roads and hardstanding areas have been constructed.
Transport movements are carried out using the following routes:
It is forecast that, provided favorable weather conditions continue, road and hardstanding construction works will be completed to approximately 90% by mid-February, and accordingly, the volume of freight transport on the above-mentioned road sections will be significantly reduced.
The road sections used for transport are regularly cleared of snow, grooved using a grader, and treated with anti-skid materials to improve traffic safety.
